As part of the Brighton Fringe Festival we have produced a weekend full of something for everybody
  • A treasure hunt and a short 600m string orienteering course for children of all ages (this course needs absolutely no previous map reading experience to be completed. Children must be accompanied by an adult)

and other outdoors stuff for adults such as
  • Free navigation workshops (places must be booked, details can be found on the contact page)
  • Guided mountain bike rides around the Devil's Dyke area
  • Guided walks over the Devil's Dyke
  • A navigation grid to practice map orientation and thumbing
  • A longer orienteering course.
  • Short map reading walks from the Devil's Dyke to Truleigh Hill (TBC)
  • An opportunity to get advice and support from walking & health experts
  • A chance to sign up for membership to the national trust etc
  • Expert information on the city's Healthwalks scheme.
  • There is also the opportunity to have lunch and a drink at the Devil's Dyke hotel situated close by

The event is aimed at everybody especially those who would not normally think about getting out of the house and go for a walk on the hills or the city.

A Day on the Down's - A healthy approach to the great outdoors is set to highlight not only the health benefits of walking, but to exploit the level of access we have to the countryside on our very doorstep.

The event will be held at the Devil's Dyke , just North of Brighton. Please see our "how to find us" page. The event will run on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th May from 1100 until 1500.

Event content subject to change dependent on weather conditions and numbers of volunteers etc.We hope to provide everything listed above. Thank you for your patience.
